Reducing the Costs of Running your House
As the doom and misery of the house market downturn set in, homeowners need to concentrate on saving pennies from every angle possible. After checking all the available options in regards to lengthening your mortgage and cutting down your monthly payments, it would be a good idea to look closer to home for cutting costs. A little nip and tuck here and there could be the difference in surviving with your home intact. Saving energy and consuming less is a good place to start. Although they might only be minor savings, when you lump them together, the difference is noticeable and will save vital pennies you will need to fight through the downturn.
Energy Saving
This might be common sense, but keeping down your heating or air-conditioning bills can considerably cut down your expenditure. Making sure the temperature gauge on your heater or air-con unit is the ideal solution to control the costs. You would be surprised by how one or two degrees can make a noticeable difference.
Make a concerted effort to purchase appliances that consume lower amounts of energy, such as low energy light bulbs, which use a fifth of the power that a regular light bulb needs. Although the light bulbs are more expensive than regular ones, they will save you money over the long run. Homeowners need to concentrate on greater energy efficiency that provides cost effectiveness.
Little energy saving tips, such as only putting just enough water in the kettle when making a coffee might sound obsessive, but over the month, you will notice the difference. Make sure everything is turned off when you are not using it. This could mean lights, your TV and DVD player on standby at night and your air-con and heating turned off when you go out.
Reduce your Home Insurance
Searching for a cheaper form of home insurance could provide you with much lower monthly bills, but be careful not to sacrifice your insurance cover too much, because in the worst-case scenario, it could prove to be more expensive. The competitive nature of the home insurance market will provide you with cheaper options, so take everything into consideration before making a transaction.
Switching to paperless billing is something homeowners do not think about too often, and although the savings are only minimal, when you put this together with your other cost cutting schemes, your bills should be dramatically lower.

Bunny Behavior In Question?
I have a 7 month old famelHolland Lop Rabbit and she's the sweetest thing ever. I let her run around the house and she never went to the bathroom anywhere except her cage, she never chews on wires, and she never bit anyone unless she smelled food on their fingers. With the only exception being that she hated being picked up, she was a very well behaved rabbit .
Until about 2 weeks ago.
Now she poops everywhere and sometimes pees so I've reduced her to running around only in my bedroom. She bites on occasion more often now. She still doesn't chew on wires, thank God. But now her new thing is she claws at your arm and chews on your clothes to get your arm closer so she can hump it. My mom suggested that I spay her, but it's going to cost me $300!! I honestly don't have that kind of money right now.
My question is, how long is a rabbit in heat for? And is there anything else I could do to make her less miserable so she'll stop this horrible cycle? My family misses watching her run around the house as well as I. I also want to make her more comfortable as well.
Unfortunately rabbits and there gestation period is 4 to 6 times per year meaning there is less time that a rabbit isn't sexual active than active. They always seem to be reaching the time of their period.
The way to overcome the cost of getting her spade/spay/fixed is to call animal shelters and tell them that your rabbit was found outside and abandoned and that you already put advertisements in the paper and around the neighborhood for months and months and no one responded to the add. Therefore the rabbit is considered a "ferrell" meaning it qualifies to be spayed/fixed for free through the animal shelter. This is what you do and they will do it for free.
In terms of chewing wires, they love to do it and a way to prevent this is for you to go out and buy chili powder and sprinkle it one the wires and the rabbit will stop to chew anything with chili powder on it. However the rabbit will poop where you want her to poop if you train her properly about the kitty litter. Put her in a small room, maybe the bathroom with food by the kitty litter and shut the door with the rabbit by the food and kitty litter at least 3 hours per each day for one week and the rabbit will overcome pooping around the home. This will definitely teach the rabbit where the proper place to go to the restroom is.

Hi normally my energy bill is around £420 i had received a bill in for £710 which is WAY more then we was expecting? my wife is studying and i am out of work, we rent our home and we have a 8 year old son, ive been out of work 6 months and i just cant find anything as we need to pay this bill! its causing a lot of strain on our marriage as we had a Npower person come yesterday & i was in the bath and heard a huge BANG BANG BANG! at the door? i would NEVER answer the door to anyone friend/family or business related who disrespects us like that my son came running upstairs scarred?
then i heard the banging again boom boom boom it was just a total lack of respect and it turned out to be Npowers Meter reader who wanted to gain entry to fit a token meter in? We have told them our landlady would NOT let us have one installed! but they havent listened...he left as i couldnt answer the door been in the bath and also i wouldnt as ive stated knocking like that! he posted a letter demanding we get in touch with Npower,
we previously offered them £100 per month to pay the £710 bill they simply refused about 2 months ago now we are getting their next step up and having this treatment off them? we cant afford anymore then the £100 it really is a lot out of your dole to pay out! we are also looking to move as this house a small 2 bed terrace is simply too expensive for us as its got no boiler it has a emergen heater so as you can imagine its not cheap..Can anyone suggest anything please as until we scrape up enough money to be able to move we still have to deal with Npower...they wont accept our offer and now threaten us with a bailiff charge of £150 & Admin cost on top of £50..kicking us more when we cant afford it? They have put the energy prices up SO much its making us really struggle the money we normally use for food would have to now be reduced just to offer Npower a bigger monthly amount and this worry's me..
Thanks
