The Best Time to Buy
Anyone within the housing market in the UK will tell you the time for buying property is now. With housing prices at an all-time low due to the sub-prime mortgage lending crisis, opportunities for those who are well-positioned in this current situation are plentiful.
The UK housing market is predicted to get worse before it gets better, prompting buyers to hold out for prices to drop even lower. This could prove to be a big mistake if conditions were to change suddenly, and in the end the buyer will lose the property he/she most desires due to trying to save a few pounds. Do your own investigation into a property and make sure you shop around at a wide variety of estate agents.
When looking for a value property, avoid large established agents and look at smaller privately owned businesses as they often have lower overheads and are able to give better discounts on listed properties that you are interested in. With the Conservatives' manifesto, they have stated they wish to remove the stamp duty that a first-time buyer has to pay for any property less than £250,000. This would allow nine out of ten potential homeowners to be able to afford to enter the market. This has sent the market into a spin and the anticipation for a large Conservative vote is prompting speculators to think that there may be a boom coming in the market.
Many banks are desperately in need of investment and governments offering incentives to help stimulate the market, so there has never been a better time to cash in on some of the great mortgage offers available now. This extra effort could end up saving you a fortune in the long run. However, be sure not to go out of your depth and ensure that you have the equity to cover the cost of the house that you have bought. A buyer should be able to honestly afford to pay the mortgage off during the 30-odd-year contract no matter what happens. Leading up to the current crisis, people thought that conditions would stay the same as when they entered into their mortgage and before they realized what was going on the bottom fell out from under them.
With property only going to get even scarcer in the UK, getting on the property ladder now is vital. If that investment you make now is wise, you to could end up making a fortune in the long run.

what is the best time to buy a lottery ticket?
to max the chances of a win, is it best to buy early or later in the day? my mate said If you buy 5 minutes before the draw, you will get the latest numbers and have a edge.
The person who buys the last ticket is likely to win. How can i do this? I am going to wait at my local shop and ask the guy to put my numbers in with 30 seconds to closing time.
In spite of people telling you that any individual number has an equal chance of being drawn you will never see 1,2,3,4,5, or 6 in a row in your life time when you are trying to pick several numbers from the same pool of numbers. This is because there is a BALANCE TO RANDOMNESS when multiple numbers are being picked from a pool of numbers. If all you are trying to pick is one number out of 53 than yes, each individual one number has an equal chance of being chosen. This all changes when you are trying to pick multiple random numbers out of the same pool of numbers. Out of, say, a pool of 53 numbers, you will see numbers somewhat spread out from 1 to 53 within the range of the numbers of the particular Lotto you are playing. The major Lotto games have you choose five numbers with a separate mega number. This being so, your 5 numbers should add up to around 150 to 165. Add up the last 100 lotto results and see what the average totals are. Pick your numbers to add up within that range. As your mega number use the number that is the most frequent one picked from the stats given on the lotto website. Or just use any mega number as this is the case where any one number is just as likely to be drawn as any other number. Good luck.

I'm planning a trip to the SXSW live music festival in Austin in March. I've got the time booked off work for it and my original plan was to buy the flight ticket as soon as the time off was approved.
I've since been told by three different friends that I should wait till a certain time to book the ticket for the best deal.
I thought it would be best to see if there is anyone who has actually done this trip and knows when the best time to buy is?
It all depends - some airlines (like Turkish) always go by the principal that the earlier you book, the cheaper your ticket. Some, like KLM, start offering you the tickets cheaper near the time in order to ensure their plane is filled.
However, if it's a music festival specifically that you are going for and really want to avoid disappointment, I'd book early. Always better to deal with definites rather than maybes!!!!
Enjoy the trip,

I am going to buy some chickens come spring and would like to know if anyone has any tips on the best time of year to buy and anything else of any use! Thank you in advance for all information. Ten points to the most useful. x
You can actually get them any time of year, it doesn't make a difference. We have 18 and 1 rooster.
The biggest difference is in the age - hens start laying from about 12 weeks of age (or so) onwards. You should expect one egg a day from them, from then until they're about 18 months old. At this point, they will stop laying for 2 months, then lay for 2 months, then stop laying for 2 months, etc, etc, until they get very old (around 6 years old onwards) - they may stop laying altogether then, not sure - we haven't got there yet!
The younger hens ("pullets" is what they're called) cost more, because of the egg production - we paid NZ$20 each for our "baby hens", but only NZ$1 for our 18 month old hens.
We give ours pellets (about 1 medium flower-pot's worth - it's what we use!) and 1 flower pot's worth of Poultry Mash, both of which we can get in our supermarket. You need to mix the mash with water until it's soggy, and they'll eat that up. We also give them fruit and veg scraps - they love the fruit in particular! We don't give them shell - the shells may be soft on the first egg from each hen, as things adjust within the hen, but they harden up without the need for shell. Also, we read that if you give them egg shells in their diet, they'll start eating the shells of their own eggs, which we didn't want to risk.
Our chickens have the run of an area about 20m X 10m. They will scratch grass back to bare earth, so we don't let them out of this area. They do fly - you'll need to cut the outer feathers of one of their wings so that they dont' escape - it doesn't hurt them as there are no nerves in the feathers, and they won't know any different (one tip - tip them upside down on your lap to do this, it seems to make them totally spaced-out!).
We make sure they have one big feeding tray - I use old cat litter pans that I've bleached out as they're great for the job. We also have at least 2 trays of water (litter pans again!), particularly during summer.
Watch for mice around the chicken food - we have a couple of traps there. What else? We have various covered areas - an old dog kennel, big coop-like things, so that they have enough shelter. If you have an area with trees, great because they love to roost in branches.
And expect them to act like dogs! I feed ours every day and they chase me for food. And they can never get enough to eat, so be careful not to over-feed them - they're just very greedy!
Good luck! The eggs are so worth it - we've started selling ours at work and we're getting new customers all the time! Our hens are all rescued from battery farms - it gives them a nicer life and their eggs are fantastic on the new diet of mash, grass and fresh air! When is the best time to buy baby necessities?
I was wondering when is the perfect time to buy baby things such as a crib, a changing area, a baby car seat, etc. I'm not due for a long time and this is my first child and I was just trying to figure out everything and for any extra advice I should be aware of. Thanks!
We got ours when I was around 30 weeks. There just happened to be sales on baby items at that time, so we picked up our crib/mattress, car seat/stroller and a playpen for grandma's house.
We didn't wait until after the baby showers because we didn't have any showers until after our baby was born. I don't think you should expect anyone to buy the big items for you anyway.
Also, make sure that you have a car seat early (incase you deliver early) because the hospital will not let you leave without one. When is the best time to buy flight tickets?
