Tenant Tax To Be Scrapped

bordercollie's picture

I found and interesting story on Council tenant tax.

What they are saying is that they are going to scrap this tax where as the government use to take what they wanted from it ( may be a bottle or two of champagne )and move it about. They are now saying that the councils will be able to keep it all so all council tenants can hope to see more improvements on council rented homes.

How soon this will come in to practice I am not sure. I don't know how many people out there rent a home from the council but if it is in need of some work then surely the councils will have a bit more cash to go that extra mile like I am told they use to in days gone by.

Why not have a read at the story this is the link. It be rather good to here from any council tenants.

Hi bordercollie. Interesting post you have there. I have some friends whom rent from the local council of where they live. I was telling them that I had read of this post on here and they said oh that dose sound like a very good idea to put in place.

There home is quite good and they have made it very nice but there are other homes that are rented from councils that do need a bit of work to them so with the extra money the councils will be able to do more and make some really nice home for people to rent.

I did have a look at the link you posted and yeah quite interesting.

I agree to that it is a good idea if they scrap that council tenant tax.

That will be good not only for the councils but also for present and new council tenants and should mean they get a really nice home to rent.

  • my tenant is not paying the rent ,ive served a notice on him.now he has put a car on the drive with no tax.?

can i get it moved or call someone to take it away,my land is not a scrap yard.where do i stand.
If he has no car tax then the vehicle must be SORN'd (statutory off road notification).
Report to the DVLA that you believe the car is not taxed or sorn'd and he will get fined.
