Should a teacher be allowed to shower with a student?
I wouldn't mind your views on this. Say a school teacher, who wasn't your teacher currently, but works at the school you go to, is your assistant gym coach in a local gym, and afterwards showers in the communal shower with you and a few friends...?
I wouldn't mind your views on this. A school teacher, who wasn't your teacher currently, but works at the school you go to, is your assistant gym coach in a local gym, and afterwards showers in the communal shower with you and a few friends...? he's friends with some of the kids (ranging from 15-20+), you've been taught by him in the past, but dropped his subject, so no longer as his student.
as long as the coah doesn't teach you anymore it really doesn't matter.Who do I go to about a disagreement with my student accomodation company?
I am living in a 4 person student house. The house has not been cleaned since the previous tenants were living here. The shower is unhygienic and needs a proffesional cleaner. We have been complaining for two weeks. Today they told us that cleaners had already been sent over, and they have already payed. However anyone would have agreed that the house had NOT been cleaned. It seems my only option now is to make a complaint to somebody but who?
Contact the Environmental Health Department of your local council. Ask to lodge a complaint about a house of multiple occupancy. They will be able to sort it out fairly quickly.I'm going to be a student in the university of nottingham please help me choose between 2 accommodations.?
I'm an international student and i have to live in the university accommodation but i cant decide between the studio and living alone or a flat with private shower but shared kitchen with 6 people? which one do you suggest?
My experience is the exact opposite.
If 6 of you are cooking together it may be messy (and someone will almost certainly eat your bickkies) but it will be much more friendly.
You may miss companionship abroad and living with others may help.Shower in the morning, night or both?
I'm just wondering. I don't have a schedule because I'm student on break. But I shower in the morning. But if I wake at noon or something I'll shower at night. School nights I'll take one in the morning and the night. (LET'S Go Germany!! FIFA '10 "!!!)
You shower far too much! You'll end up with dry, flaky skin and did you know you are washing all the good bacteria off your skin. The main reason we have so many people suffering from allergies and skin complaints is because society is becoming too clean and sterile. A little bit of dirt does no harm and a shower a couple of times a week is ample. Plus think of the water you will save! Why does my sweat smell changed these days?
I am 28 years old girl. From the day winter changed to spring my sweat smell bad, at former times it did not smell at all it was just like wet on my armpit! but now it is smell bad just 5 hours after my shower!
I am a student.
Any reason? or any treatment would be welcome!
It could be your diet. If you're eating a lot of fat or protein your body odor can change. It can also change because of medicines or stress. Try using a deodorant.Shower mould, how to get rid?
Hey, I'm a student and I've just moved into halls. I have an en-suite which is great but it's obvious it wasn't cleaned very well before I moved in. As well as common dirt there's mould growing in the corners up the side and even on the walls. It just grows everywhere. It's a shower with a glass screen and there's a ventilation fan that automatically comes on as the light is turned on. Any idea how I can get rid of the mould and make sure it doesn't come back?

Toxic mold can be dangerous and sometimes fatal for those who come in contact with the mold. Mot household molds are in colors like red, green, blue, black, and brown. The only two that are toxic that is found in the household are Stachybotrys and Memnolniella molds. There are found in damp, dark, and wet places in and around the house.

No do not ignore the warning... make sure by looking at the pictures from the source url... and even then all of these have good information on cleanup and prevention of further outbreaks.
.How to stop bacteria spreading from toilet to kitchen?
Im going to be living in a student house next year. There is a washing room which leads directly into the kitchen. In washing room I mean, toilet, shower and washing machine. Im a little worried about bacteria spreading and was thinking of maybe hanging something on the door. Any ideas?
Dont put your naked butt on the kitchen worktop!having problems with landlord not fixing broken shower and bath, what can i do?
i live in a shared student house and our main bathrooms shower/bath has been broken for about 6 months now and nothing has been done about it, although we call them all the time the fob us off with excuses and say stuff like the plumber is getting the part etc. We are lucky there are 2 other bathrooms in the house with working showers but these are en-suite and its a pain in the mornings. We are going to tell the letting agency tomorrow that we are only going to pay half rent until its fixed, when it is fixed we will give them the remaining rent. We are gonna put the money in an account so it is there waiting to be paid in as soon as the problem is fixed. is this ok to do, legally etc? and is there anything else i we can do? someone told me that not paying rent is breaking our agreement, but the letting agency have broken theres by not fixing the problems around the house and its been more than 6 months... thanks to anyone who has any advice for me it would be much appreciated.
Unfortunately, you can not withold rent. This could result in you being evicted under section 8 of the 1988 Housing Act.
Your landlord has an obligation to repair the bath under section 11 of the 1985 Landlord & Tenant Act.
If there are more than 4 let rooms, it should be licensed as a 'House in Multiple Occupation' by the council. Some councils requre smaller properties to be licensed too. The HMO officer at your local council may be able to make the landlord repair the bath etc.
You may also be able to get help from the Environmental Health Officer at the council.

Hi,
Basically I'm a student living in Halls Of Residence with an en-suite.
The shower curtain at the bottom is pretty grubby and it's difficult as it's fixed to the wall at one side.
How can I clean this?
I tried spraying on bathroom cleaning & then using a cloth but that didn't work.
Ideas please
Spray some bleach on it and leave it hanging over the shower tray.how much more expensive is an electricity meter?
We live in a 4 bedroom, modern, double glazed student house. We have gas heating. We have an electric shower. id say we are relatively good with turning stuff off. We turn everything off at the wall when not using it and everything off over night. At the moment we are pumping just short of £100 into the electricity box every month. Does this seem like too much?
it is supose to be arount £300 a quarter more expensive, I have one and its the worst thing ever invented
Hello Mouse4u1 with the shower problem. I am no expert but I suggest you contact the landlord of whom you pay your rent to and ask them to get a electrician out to fix it for you. At the end of the day you need a shower and it should be working, well you are paying for it. I would not suggest you try and do anything your self let the landlord sort it all out for you.
Hope that is of help to you.
Thank you so much for your advice.
I just did not want to be a pain in the neck to the landlord you know.
Well I contacted the landlord. I said I am sorry to trouble you but can you help I have a problem. The landlord was understanding and said what is it.
I explained the shower had stopped working and was only giving cold water. I said that I checked the fuse box to see if any trip switches had gone off and all was ok.
He said right I have a man who dose maintenance work and would get him to sort it. He said he could be with me in a hour or so and would I be in. The answer was yes and well the man came and checked it out and said that it had given up due to old age.
He said i will be back in an hour or so with a fresh one. Well he was and it all works fine.
My landlord said just to let him know if anything else should go wrong and he would get it sorted. So not that bad after all.
Thanks again

Hello Mouse again.
I just happen to notice that there was a reply to my reply.
I should just like to say that you are more than welcome for the advice. It costs nothing to ask anyone hense this really good forum. I think it is a really good way of finding out all sorts of things.
I will say this who ever thought up this website www.propertyanswers4u.com is a genius you know. I shall be telling my friends about it. Hey just thought you could tell all your mates at college where to look if they have a property question.
I am pleased to here that you have a good landlord there and he got it all sorted for you. Well at least no one can not say you are a smelly student not now you have a new shower ( not that you was one you know what I mean ).
Good on you boy and good luck with your career.
Just reading your post on your shower problem or what was but is no more. My daughter had the exact same thing happen when she went to uni and like you did not want to cause a fuss. But you know what girls are like in the shower. I said she must have worn it out.
Anyway she approached her landlord and yes she also had a good landlord who got it fixed in no time at all. He or was it she said just to let them know if anything gose wrong as stuff dose wear out and dose not last for ever and besides you need to have a shower if you dont have a bath to keep clean if nothing else.
So yeah any students or any other tenant reading the above posts dont be affraid to approach your landlord or landlady as they dont bite. I'm not a landlord but just going on what my daughter has told me. Yes there are some that are a bit slow in getting things done but there are plenty of good one about also.
happy renting

All the above posts are spot on. If you have a defective shower or the immersion heater has stopped working / failed due to the fact they have packed up and was all in working order when you moved in and you were told that there is a shower, a cooker, a immersion heater etc and something fails then you just contact the landlord and say look the shower has stopped working would you get someone to check it out or the same with the immersion heater etc.
If a landlord will not do any work what so ever then you could try your local council and see if they can give you some advise on what route to take or you could try Citizens Advice beuaru.
Road Runner ( meep, meep )
Yeah, I think you have got to get your landlord involved with this, to handle the expense and the safety of this matter. Check your contract to see if repairs are included and how they should be handled. If they are to be paid by your landlord, definitely give him a call today so you can be taking good showers again soon.
Also, please don't mess with these electrical issues on your own. I have heard of people getting shocked by these shower units, and some people dying. Renting has its advantages, and one of those is not having to deal with repairs.
Give him a call now so you can get things baack in order.
Steve
Oh no. Please don't hurt yourself dealing with that shower. I mean, electricity can be difficult to fix, especially for those who don't know how to do it.
On the other end of this issue, you might want to contact your landlord tonight. This is definitely an issue for him to fix, as it is in the contract for your place.
Any appliance or any electric item in the place needs to be fixed by a professional, hired by your landlord.
I hope you get it fixed soon. I hate it when I can't take a warm shower.
-Cass
Hey everyone,
Yes, I agree with Steve on this one. Get your landlord on the phone as soon as you can. Any repair to the place is his responsibility, and you should not be messing with that kind of thing unless you're a electrician.
Any mix between water and electricity is usually dangerous to deal with, so you need to get your landlord involved. If he is not available, and you need the shower, you might want to think about calling an electrician yourself, then asking the landlord to pay for it later.
Of course, this might against the contract, so unless you know your landlord personally, I wouldn't recommend this approach.
I hope you can get clean soon! Take care.
Jeff
