Poll : How many of you have seen any snow yet?
Down here in South Wales it'll be a ten-flake wonder again I expect (though everything will still grind to a halt)
Hi Cardanja
Just drove from Swansea to Magor. There's a lot of snow falling around Cardiff
Weirdest snow though. So dry it's not sticking. Couls see the snow in the headlamps and swirling on the ground, but none on the windscreenare you in the uk? where is all the snow!?
I remember back as early as september they were forecasting unpresedented amounts of snow even as early as october!
Well its half way through the winter, weeks before xmas and where is the snow?
Heavy rain yes, fog yes.. but snow?
This time last year there was snow everywhere!
Yet again total garbage from the newspaper and weather reporters
Over here in Canada we've got plenty, and we don't mind sharing...have nobody in the snow to play with!!?
Basically, its snowy right now but it going to thaw by tomorrow and it probably wont snow again. nobody in my neighborhoods out, my parents have gone out somewhere and i don't live right next to my friends or anything.
It kinda looks dumb if your playing on your own doesn't it? I haven't been out properly in the snow yet ( apart from feeling a few flakes yesterday night,, MWAHAHA) and it might only snow once this year.
are there any ideas on what you can do alone in the snow?
well, just say screw it and play on your own, but to be honest i dont know why you dont enjoy the house to yourself, get a hot chocolate and watch a movie :DUK Have you had any snow yet ?
We keep getting it in bits but then it all melts again - boo
I'm in the Potteries
Yet? Like w're going to get any?
I remember my childhood being full of smow filled Xmas's
IGood vegetarian restaurant in Central London?
Does anyone know of a good vegetarian restaurant (but not to expensive) in Central London? I want to take a vegetarian friend out for dinner tomorrow but don't want to be too far from the West End as it might be snowing (yet again!!). Thanks everybody
Many good ones on this site:
http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/restaurants/vegetarian-restaurants-recommended-london-77.html{Weather snow } Have you got snow wear you are . and haw bad is it ? and can you offer some advice /?
Hi i.m in London and yet again its started to snow
do you have any advice to offer for Drivers . and people who are using the trains
and haw long is this very bad weather in the uk going to last for .
In Massachusetts, no snow, and with a little luck it will stay that way
when driving in snow, drive slowly, and keep a safe distance from the person in front of you. Do not take chances.
It is impossible to tell how long it will lastIs anyone else excited about CHRISTMAS yet?
I know it's still 3 months away but I'm really looking forward to all the snow again and the lights and saying "merry christmas" to every single person I pass by. I get a buzz just thinking about it :D
Oh what the hell..... MEEEEEERRY CHRISTMAAAAAAAS :P
Well I got the tree out and dusted it off, made a floor plan of where I should put the decorations, ordered the turkey and the handmade crackers from Harrods. The Christmas pudding is coming from a small shop in Sweden which has won prizes and been mentioned in certain magazines that I am not allowed to mention. All I need now is aloan off my bank to pay for it all...God I love Christmas.Snowing in the UK apparently? Do you think it could actually happen? Because I've found no solid evidence.?
Basically woke up this morning and heard my mum say oh, on the radio it said that snow is fore-casted for this week, which obviously i did not take seriously, it's not cold enough to snow yet. However went onto Yahoo and noticed this page:
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20101122/tuk-wrap-up-early-winter-snowfalls-forec-45dbed5.html
I then tried to find some more evidence to back this up, and went onto the BBC Weather website, and the report said snow as fair south as East anglia by mid week, typed in my location, no mention of snow, then typed in Glasgow, a far north city, and yet again no mention of snow for the prevailing week.
Any comments? could it actually snow?
have you looked at the weather forecast on the tv? it says its meant to get ALOT colder this week, look at this link
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_warnings.html
its likely to snow wherever you are atleast a bit this week unless your in the south west, put into google news snow uk and look at al the stuff that comes up!So apparently October 2011 for the UK, will be a very settled month and unusually mild but...?
apparently November will start all the Ice yet again and snow?
september is obviously ending on a hot note and october will start on a hot note but by the 3rd or 4th all the country will be under cooler weather and the rest will probably be wet and windy with occasional snow on the hills up north in scotland and some cod and frosty night maybe extending further south at times so october on the whole will either be average or maybe just below but i doubt it will be milder than average, november is still a long way away and from what i heard about a week ago and for about 2 weeks prier to that they have all said cold, snowy and icy but i suppose we will have to see go on the bbc weather website for a monthly outlook :)Do you find it funny or embarrassing how we in the U.K just can't deal with snow!! ?
We've managed to bring the country to a stand still yet again!!
Unbelievable that this keeps happening, there isnt a school open where i live, bus/train services disrupted, havent seen hide nor hair of a postman and the wheelie bins are still out and full. How do they manage in countries where there's snow/ice all year round?
What a good thought clearing the snow so your neighbor has a easy route to get to such as the wheelie bin or the shed for may be there freezer if they have one in a shed.
Yes I have thought the same as mate. One minute I was clearing leafs and chasing them all over the place and now I seem to be moving snow all over the place now. The next thing will be that we is that there is to much rain or that the frost will be twice as bad as last year and pipes will be more frozen than before.

The snow seems to have all gone now but I have just seen on the news that they are saying there is more snow expected Thursday Friday onwards and there is meant to be a lot of it.
This we will have to get the bags of salt ready and the shuvles out again. Oh what a nightmare if we get it all again.
Road Runner ( meep, meep )
Well it now looks like the snow has moved to the states ( us ). All our snow seems to have just about gone apart from a few bits here and there.
At last I can get to the garage and wheelie bin without having to fight through the snow.
Lets hope that is it now and it has gone until next year.

Well all the snow in my garden and drive area seems to have gone and it seems to be a lot milder as well. Has it really all gone now or are we going to get another helping of it.
Someone on the radio said yesterday just because we had a bad winter we are not going to get a good summer so the weather forcast people say.
I saw some snow the other day. The first thing I thought was oh no not again but it only just lasted the day so not to bad really like others I just wish it iwould now go away.
Well at least we don't have to clear our drives and path ways every 10 minutes like we was doing.
I see from the above post we are in for a rubbish summer then. That's just typical of the british weather we either get three days of good weather and the rest of the year is more or less rubbish.

Just plenty of rain. So glad I have not had to get the salt out and the shuvle.
Lets hope it stays this way.
Marcus
I am so glad we don't have the rotten stuff now. This damn country was worse this year than what it was last year. Totally amazing. The days have gone when everyone helped each other in the snow.

I think some may say that is Well Good. What ever the saying it is great that we do not seem to have any.
