forgot the numberInsurance...?
We are planing to start our own insurance company NOT agency, I need to know all the things which I need before I can sell the insurance..as of..what different type of Licenses do I need before I can get in the business?, contact with DMV or not?, State Approval? etc...etc... there is whole lot of information which I need so any one there who can guide me Please??
Just contact your state's Insurance Department...I think you will be shocked at the amount of money that is required to hold for reserves. You can't exist as an insurance company unless you can prove that you are financially stable, and capable to pay at any time the maximum in losses for any and every policy you write. Ex. One person has an auto policy with 1 million dollars in liability limits, and a $30K vehicle has an accident... If they totaled their car and caused the maximum amount of damage to other people's property and person....there goes $1,030,000.00 right there in one day...not to mention the legal defense charges on top of that for any civil suits.....and medical payments to your insured driver. Good luck though in your pursuits!!Does comprehensive car insurance cover others not on the policy?
My Brother has a full comprehensive UK car insurance. Can I drive his car and be covered by the insurance even though I am not listed on the insurance and live at the same address. I have a full UK license, he claims I am covered because he gives me the permission to drive the car which according to him is right.
I have read the insurance policy but my brains are not big enough to understand that "given permission" part.
If anyone can throw more light on this, it will be fully appreciated.
you need to be a named driver on the policy to be able to drive on his insuranceIs insurance included when you book a flight online?
I'm planning to buy a ticket online to Canada but i'm not sure if insurance for cancellation of flight and stuff is included. I've read the 'conditions' but it's just too confusing and theres nothing about insurance. Does anyone happen to know if aircanada include insurance in their deals?
Insurance is not included when you purchase a flight ticket other than any cancellation rules the airline or the government of the country in which the ticket was purchased has in force. Such rules are generally pretty low in compensation. For example, if your checked bags go astray the airline has a liability under the Warsaw Convention to compensate you for your loss. However the level of compensation is very low as this international agreement was made in 1929 and amended last in 1975 reflects values at that time and has not been updated since. In any event general travel insurance is certainly not included and you should get some. What the insurance will do if the two parties of the car accident all have policy with the same insurer?
I had a car accident and I believe it was third party's fault. However, the third party and I have policy from the same insurance company. The legal insurance is same as well. What should I do to make sure that the insurance would act without interest conflict? If I use different legal firm, will it be better?
You have one advantage in that the insurance company will have both people's versions of the incident and be able to better apportion liability quickly. They should advise you of the conflict of interest under FSA rules. The fact that you are insured with the same insurer does not affect your rights under contract (they must repair your car if you have comprehensive cover) nor does it affect the other driver's rights under contract (the insurance company must pay damages you claim against him - under the liability section, if they think he is at fault).
Hopefully the insurance company will quickly decide on who is at fault and pay you your uninsured losses (excess, loss of earnings, injury etc). If not then you will have to look at the legal expenses insurance policy and see if there is an exclusion against them pursuing a claim against the insurer. If there is then you would probably have to raise a complaint in that they are not treating you fairly because of the conflict of interest.
It will certainly be cheaper and easier if you legal expenses insurance company pursues a claim on your behalf - the only problem you will have is if the other driver disputes liability - and instructs his legal expenses policy to claim against you. In that case they will have to withdraw due to a conflict of interest.
The insurance company may offer a split-liability settlement. You can challenge this if you wish, in order to preserve your no claims bonus - but this will delay payment of uninsured losses until the claim is settled. In this case I would assume the other driver would be pursuing a claim as well and so you both will need to take legal advice elsewhere. What date should I start my new car insurance?
I am currently looking to change car insurance companies. I am in the UK. My current car insurance ends at Noon on 29th March. Since my insurance ends at Noon, should I start my new insurance with another company on 29th March so that the two overlap (for half a day!) or should I start the new one on 30th March, so I go for half a day without insurance? I assume that most insurance car policies start at midnight and you can't change the start time online, only the start date? What would be best?
Try the telephone and ask them to start it from noon, believe it or not thats how it was done before the internet.Who pays for the home insurance when you let your house?
I ask this question on behalf of my friend, who lives in Malaysia. He wants to know what the law in England will be in this case.
My friend is gonna let his house to another, so that he can have some income. A question arises: They need to buy a home insurance in case there is an accident like fire. Apparently in Malaysia, a homeowner doesn't have to buy insurance for his house.
So in this case, who should pay for the home insurance, the homeowner or the tenant? I mean, the rental period is 2 years, and the insurance, if paid, will cover for 2 years only.
whoever owns the house
duhTravel Insurance - Can I take out two different insurance policies for the same trip?
I will be travelling and WWOOFing in Europe and doing some sightseeing. I can not find travel insurance that covers volunteering and baggage cover. It looks like my best option is to have travel insurance that covers me whilst I volunteer on farms and another insurance policy for the time in between farms for baggage etc. My Question- if I buy from two different insurance companies, will that invalidate the other one?
Best to ask the companies to be sure of what you will be covered for.
Usually, you can buy lots of insurance - the companies will always take your money - but either you cannot claim for the same thing from two or three companies OR they will pay pro-rata, for example, each will pay only half or a third of the amount insured.
Does the group for whom you are volunteering not have such information or guidance for volunteers ? What about the predominantly student travel company STA travel ?How do I start an insurance company?
I am hoping to start an insurance company specialising in car insurance for young/inexperienced drivers. I am aware that all insurance companies are now wired in to a police computer to help them catch uninsured drivers, so how do I register the business with the correct authorites?
Thank you in advance.
You are about 3 years too early to think about that system.
To start an insurance company you first need to get your team together. The team will then do the feasibility studies to see if such a business would work. They will also write the policies, which would then be sent to your team of lawyers to make sure everything works and you can survive the lawsuits that are sure to come. When the lawyers give their stamp of approval you will then need to register with the Department of Insurance (or whatever it's called on your side of the pond).
If the policies get approval from the Department of Insurance you will then need to place £millions into accounts from which to pay claims. After you get the accounts set up, you can then get your underwriting team together. The underwriting team will be those who develop a system to find those uninsured drivers. You will then develop your team of sales agents and marketing people and start selling your product.
This is just an overview; it is actually much more involved.National Insurance Number card stolen? Do I need to call and get a replacement?
I still know my National Insurance Number because I wrote it down somewhere safe when I first got the card. But do I need to call and get a replacement anyway? Who would I have to call? Could someone be using my number in any way? Thanks x
Sorry, didn't know what catagory to put this in. Let me know if you think there's a more appropriate one. Thank you!
It's getting on for 25 years since I was first issued my NI card and not once in that time have I ever needed to present it to anyone. So long as you know your national insurance number, you'll manage without it.
You can apply for a card using this form

Hello there. You say you are thinking about stopping your insurance.
Well I can tell you now that is a very bad idea. It may save you lots of pounds throught out the year but what do you do when you do need to call on the insurance company.
Friends of the family have had there insurance policy running from well when the romans were about I think and it paid off in the long run for them.
They had saved up to go on a cruise you know and whilest they were away oh my word it was just as well they was. What happend was that there was a bad storm one night and the big old tree got struck by lightning and what with strong winds as well in came through the roof and made a really big mess.
Not only was the roof to repair but there was various electrical cables, water pipes and the heating pipes the list was endless.
Now lucky for them they had insurance never claimed until the disaster happend and the insurance company took care of the lot.
If they had of had pay out of there own pocket they would have had to have taken a loan out and cost them thousands.
So at the end of the day do not cancle your insurance policy. You can always look for one that is better priced as there are lots of insurance companies about who will give a good deal.

Hello mouse 4u1
Thats a good user name you have there. Anyway Mr Mouse. I have read your reply and it go me thinking, well as in I think I am the sort of person that if I cancled my insurance policy something like that would happen to me. Just be my luck you know.
I was talking to a couple of chums in the pub one night and they have said the same as you more or less. So I think what I will do is that the date is due soon to re new it and I am going to look round to see if I can get a better price.
I guess your right in the long run. Oh well I think I had better see what other ways I can save some money. There must be some that are better than that wild idea I had surely.
thanks Again
I also like you hate paying insurance. I think I should get a discount not having claimed for anything in years.
However I can tell you this year I did put a claim in for flood damage. The property I am in got the ground floor flooded. They said that with all these flood banks etc that it would not get to my door. Just as well I took the insurance out and I got new flooring and various electrical good etc.
Well this time round the electrical goods have been situated so as they are on the wall and anything else that can be mounted high up to a degree is as well.
I cant put the sofa up high but it dose mean that some things are out of the way should the worsest happen again and if I am in and water is going to come back then my plan is raise the furniture up on my wood work benches if we cant get it up stairs fast enough.
So lucky for us the insurance paid out for the complete lot. I dont want to go through all that again but like I say this time I am having a plan in place.
Oh my word. Do Not Stop Your Insurance Policy.
No matter what they charge you per month or year just pay it.
You can always look round other insurance companies to see if you can get a better priced policy and may be even get more cover.
I once knew someone who did what you are proposing to do and hell did it or did it cost them £ £ £ ££ £ £ £ £ £ Thousands to be honest.
They had storm and flood damage and no insurance policy. Well after that they bolted the stable door and got insurance out. If only they had not stopped it.
I guess they learned the hard way. I suggest you take everyones advice and pay it at least that way if the worse dose happen you are covered.
William
Insurance is a good idea to have as apossed not to have.
Like the other members have said you never know when something will go wrong and could cost thousands and thousands and even worse you may get someone who is a cowboy and run off with the money you have paid them for half a dodgy job.
At least if you pay your insurance and you do need to make a claim they can get someone who they have used before who is good at there job and will just bill the insurance company not you and before you know it depending how bad a miss hap your property could be up and running again in no time at all.

Insurance hey. Urm we have insurance for everything possible. We have not made a claim in years now but there was a couple medium sized claims for which the insurance took care of and so far no big ones for which we do not want.
The last one we had was about four years ago when the patio door system stopped opening as it should and the company who put it in seemed to have vanished in to thin air. Well after a lot of phone calls we contacted the insurance company to see if they could help and they said yes there and then.
So the top and bottom of it is keep paying the insurance as you never know when you may need to use it. We got the door replaced all with in a week which was really great. I think it could have cost us about £400 pluss due to the type of door and its opening system.

Insurance can be a bore having to pay it and feels like you are getting nothing back for the money you have paid in for years and years. Now don't go and make a claim just for the sake of it as that could against the law if you try to defraud the insurance to get some money back.
I had never made a claim full stop and had been paying insurance for years and years and I did think about stopping it but just carried on to pay it.
Well while in the process of moving house going up a concrete stair case my arm had a sudden pain and I dropped the video recorder ( dvd recorders was not about at the time ). I tried it but it was dead.
I telephoned the insurance company the next day and explained what had happend and how silly I felt and it turns out I was covered so they said take it to this local shop so they can check it and well within a week I think it was they had a new one delivered to my door so something as silly as that can often be covered.
So my advise to anyone thinking about stopping there insurance don't as you will never know if should need to make a genuine claim as I did.
How ever I must admit that for all the years you pay in and don't make a claim it would be nice if these insurance companies suggested something like have a free month this year for not making a claim in say 5 years or two months free in 10 years. I think people would be more carefull and less likely to make a claim if they thought they was getting something extra back.
They could may be say if you made a big claim then you don't get your free month or something. I am sure there is many ways that they could reward the genuine payers.

Why not do a search on this site to find what insurance companys come up and you can look for the best deal to go with.
At the end of the day it will pay to have it.
Oliver
I did a search for park home insurance to see what came up on here and wow the list was endless.
So yes it really dose work you know and now-a-days we can not afford not to have insurance.
