Got any advice for holiday lets in the UK? Where are good areas to look for investment? Seems surfing is taking off these days, went to Newquay two weeks ago and there were loads of surfers. Seema to be a bit of a all year activity too! But Newquay is expensive, I'm not looking for new build flats, more of an older bungalow to do up and that can be let out for whole weeks or maybe even months
Hey I had a holiday in Newquay last year and I had a go at the surfing it was great although I seem to end up more times in the water than on the board but still good fun.
Your idea of buying a bungalow size type propery and renting it would would be a great idea as I for one would certainly look at renting it for a week or two at a time may be even longer depending on the price etc.
I have just typed in to the search engine on this site we are on currently and wow it came back with loads of differnt places what had property for sale, lets, various estate agents etc. From the looks of it you could get everything you need to know from there.
I read in one of the forum topics that someone had put this website is amazing well I forget just which topic I saw it in but they are certainly right it is damn amazing. Even the simple question weather you put it in the forum or in the search box it is fantastic. I think I will be passing by more often from now on.
hope my bit of info helps you. It costs nothing to ask
That is most excellent idea. Buy a bungalow sized property, do a bit of work to it and have yourself a holdiday / long weekend when you want. In the meantime rent it out through a letting agent and get rent money back on it.
That sounds like a win, win situation. Ok there will be times when it is quiet but the peak of the season I would have thought you would be able to get a good rent back on the place, make a few extra quid and may be have a holiday else where. You could even buy another property if that one is doing really well.
I think I may have to look in to this idea sounds of great interest.
Hey may be I could buy a holiday let place to let out through out the year. That should be a bit of easy money coming in to my bank account.
I am guessing that so long as you maintain the place and what with a lick of paint here and there and looking all nice etc then I see no reason why it would not be a good investment plus you can have a week or two there yourself.
Urm think I shall have to keep my eyes open to see what is on the property market on that one.
I see you are all saying that buying a place to let as a holiday let but I have just read a peace on one of the forums on here that it says house prices have gone up and looks like they may still climb up.
So I personally don't know at the minute. I like the idea of letting a place out and making some money back on it but it is the buying it bit at the minute.
Yes, I just ranted and raved on one of the other forums about how property prices have increased and how most of us will never be able to buy a house. Is this untrue? Are there still properties out there that are good value for money?
