Book Your Holiday Let

mountainbiker_uk's picture

Well it must be time to start thinking about booking a holiday let in the UK as there are loads to choose from up and down the country.

Some friends of mine have already book one ages ago for valentines day well a few days before and after.

Anyone else booking for that reason or just thinking about having a few days away.

Smile I was talking to a friend and they was saying they was going to whisk there mrs off for a few days to a holiday let to some place that they loved for valentines day.

He also said that they had rented a really nice place and what with nice surroundings made it spot on. So may be it could be the way to go. Have a nice break / holiday in the UK without having to pay a fortune and get on a plane and not know if the air traffic control or other airport staff are going to go on strike.

I don't have anyone to go any where but still think it is a very good idea all the same.

I'm not booking mine as of yet had a few extra bills so funds are a little tight.

I am going to hang on for a bit and if still low funds will not bother.

I bet there is a few people now getting there long weekends planned what with these bank holidays coming up.

I have seen some nice holiday lets about in nice areas. May be one day I may even get round to it. I have to say that they do seem to a popular thing with people weather it is a short break or a couple of weeks.

Hey you know I have just thought I bet some people have even rented a holiday let out on the grounds they are looking to buy a property in that area so as they can check it out and without having to drive round all day.

I like the idea of renting a holiday let out for an area you are thinking about buying a home as if you are there for a week or two you can settle in and check out there area better and see what the natives are like also if you need to know what the schools are like and crime rates etc plus you get a nice break at the sametime.

I won't be in a holiday let anytime soon as I don't have the spare cash besides I have two dogs and I don't think there is many that will let you take dogs with you. I guess some places may have been trashed and it is to costly for the owners to keep re decorating several times a year.

Thats a well cool idea renting a holdiay let out to see what the local area is like without having to spend no end of time traveling backwards and forwards and then forgetting to check out other things you need to know about.

At least that way you can take your time and just take it all in and travel further a field and see what else is about.

I have just heard of a good idea and that was I was talking to a chap and he has rented a holiday let out for his mother ( mothers day ) to one of many places she likes to go but was not able to afford it herself.

So from what he told me he has packed her and her best friend off for two weeks in devon. So I guess you don't just have to wait until holiday times you can go any time really.

That is a really great idea for a holiday let Marcus. That dose make a good present for someone.

Hey you could send the Mrs off for a couple of weeks and have a boys only zone. You know get a few bottles in do what you want then tidy up before they get back. You could always say you are working away and doing a little from home or something.

Then have a party or three but get rid of the evidence afterwards.

  • When you book a holiday, do you let your travel insurance company know?

that you have a mental illness. I'm going away with friends and unsure what to do.
The small print does state you need to advise them of any conditions and as such you wouldn't be able to claim in the event a medical situation arises in regards to your mental illness.

personally speaking, not a chance, they would load a massive premium on top which would make it too expensive. I always take the chance that I don't have an manic episode whilst on holiday. All insurance is discriminatory against people with mental health conditions, so why give them my money.

Whats the worse that could happen? being committed to a psych ward in the US and left with a bill of thousands? I'd like to see them try and collect.
  • What can travel agents do if you cant pay your deposit for holiday?

I havr just been payed off and booked a holiday for next year and agent has payed deposit which i have to pay back next month, i now have have to cancel holiday as cant afford it. Just wanting to know If u still need to pay it but at later date or just not pay it as cant afforf it. Thanks let me know
I find it odd that any travel agent would pay the deposit for you anyway. In general, the agent takes the deposit from you before booking the holiday, and then this money secures the holiday, if you then annot afford to pay the balance, then you lose the deposit. In this ase, if the agent paid the deposit, then I would think that they could then take action to claim this amount from you!!

As it all seems a bit strange and unusual, I would think the only person to give you the correct advice would be he agent who booked the holiday in the fisrt place.

Please let me know who this agent is, I would love to have a travel agent who would pay my deposit for me!!!
  • What are your recommended last minute holiday websites?

As a seasoned last-minuter I have a few sites that I always use for booking a holiday about 2-4 weeks before my intended departure date. I know I should plan ahead but it's not always possible given my partner's job. We're looking for a flight and hotel deal, somewhere hot, and 3* plus from any London airport. Just interested to know the sorts of sites other people use and why they like them. Please let me know. Many thanks.

  • Is it true the mccanns had a book on how to get rid of a corpse on holiday?

someone posted a mccann youtube vid yesterday and i was looking at related vids, this one came up but i dont understand spanish, is it true that the mccanns had a book on how to get rid of a corpse on holiday? what a rather unfortunate coincidence.. (if that, though i cant imagine they did it on purpose, or else they would have destrroyed the book or hidden it from being found, no?)

anyway, lets hear your thoughts on what this video says and if it means anything...

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kg2UQbpDB5c&NR=1
the book is supposed to be ""No Stone Unturned: The True Story of the World's Premier Forensic Investigators" written by Steve Jackson"
so its not such an outrageous claim, i would read it and i dont plan on killing anyone..
rather than just say its being silly, can anyone translate the video? rather than disregarding evidence you dont understand?
IM NOT SUGGESTING ANYTHING!! I AM SAYING I DO NOT UNDERSTAND SPANISH FFS!
the book is a mainstream book its not like they had a satanic bible or anything. I personally DO NOT CARE if they killed her or not. I was just looking at different evidence that has been presented. dont disregard it if you dont even understand spanish!
or portuguese or whatever the hell it is!
I DIDNT SAY THAT THEY *DID* IT because they had that book, I said it was a rather unfortunate coincidence, if its true, if anyone reads the question... geez. i just asked if it was true or not i didnt say it implicated their guilt!
Cant anyone understand portuguese/spanish? I just asked whether it was true or not, & if anyone could understnad the video!! i didnt ask for your opinions! geez!! what a bunch of pettiness!
I am not making a SHOT at anyone, I am asking if it were TRUE?
I heard a rumour that the book was actually called:

"How to get rid of the COPS on holiday".... ;p
  • is it an absolute joke?

if you and your partner had booked your holiday's at the beginning of the year and she turned around and booked a holiday with her friend 3 days before you were to spend time together slap bang in the middle of "our" 2 weeks off ,would you think it was an absolute joke? also bearing mind we are to be married in 3 months time..i have no problem with her going away if the time was prebooked or given some notice...she has also fallen out with her sister "big time" just recently.I was invited to her other sisters sons birthday party which i was not going to attend, however did and was invited back to there home for sunday lunch and to let all the children play together, this has been viewed by her as some sort of betrayal? i get on very well with her family and considering they are to become my in-laws did not see any problem with it . we have all been close over the last 2 years..she also called me up during the sunday lunch and said she does not wat to see me again ,she is now on holiday .one more thing she called just before she left and has rallied round her friends and they say they are absolutely stunned that i went there, ihave a 7 year old daughter myself whom her nephew adores..i feel i am being made a scape goat due to her stubbornness,i also love her implisitly...i have tried to put just the facts down, really am grateful for any answers...love and peace x;)
Sorry mate... she's giving you the message loud and clear. Time to move on... :-/
  • Parents/boyfriend/holiday dilemma?

    Parents/boyfriend/holiday dilemma?
I'm currently on a MA course and financially dependent on my parents. My boyfriend has booked a holiday to Paraguay for the first week of the four week Easter break before exams.
When I told my parents they said that taking a holiday now is stupid and irresponsible, and takes the piss out of them and their investment in my education. They say that if I go they'll cut off my money.
Would you let down your parents, lose their respect and financial support (meaning you have to move back in with them), or completely f*ck over your boyfriend who has just spent £400 on you?
Your parents have your best interest at heart, and are not trying to harm you,you are fortunate enough to have parents that are paying for your education,it's an investment in you ,because they love and believe in you. They want you to be responsible and be successful so YOU can make your own choices and be able to take care of yourself after your schooling. It's not about letting your parents down or your boyfriend being disappointed,it's about you being responsible and not allowing yourself to be sidetracked.Business before pleasure, unless your boyfriend is going to pay for your education.
  • What is there for a family to do in Benidorm?

I have a family holiday booked in Benidorm in June so apart from the water park what else is there for my kids to do?

My children are aged 5 and 9 and I would really like to be able to give them a great fun packed holiday. So if you have been with your family and have any good suggestions let me know!
Hi, i lived in Spain for seven years & recently left ''Very sad''
And i used to go to Benidorm loads of times :-))
As you have kids, you might like going to Terra Mítica::That is in Benidorm it is a Theme Park: It is really fun! Even for the adults!
Aswell you have got Terra Natura, that is similar to a Zoo & at the end there is a big swimming pool & water slides & a park there for your kids to play in. There is a Sealife Centre that is called:: Mundomar: That means Sea-world in English :d
There are big water slides aswell in Aqualandia: That means Water-land in English :-))

Well, there are many more places you can go and visit.
If you wanted a night out, without the kids & someone was there to look after them at about 12.00pm you could go to Benidorm Palace. It is lovely lots of Entertainment & shows, etc...

    Enjoy your holiday Spain :-))

    Hope i helped :d
    ByE ^_^ Adiós
