Oh gosh all this rioting has caused a bit of bother with the stock exchange or so it would seem.

I certainly have not got that sort of money for shares in different things but anyone with a few millions may want to look at a different line of investment.

Huh. Wish I had a few millions to play about with.
Yes it is shocking all that rioting and all those business that have been built up over the years. One of them was over 140 years old.

You can not imagine how much money has been lost on stock and of course there property.
Well I don't have a business I just work for a someone like many other people do but I would certainly not want to be there at the time with all that going off.

Sad

William

  • How can you buy shares without going to the stock exchange?

I know you get some people on phones, but I don't know anyone who goes there. Are there like agents or something?
And I'm most interested in the London stock exchange or alternative investments.
You will need a broker if you want to buy shares on the LSE or AIM but there are different types of brokers.

If you dont know what you are doing you can lose a lot of money in a very short space of time so be careful and take a bit of time to learn the basics first.

Low commission brokers operate on an execution only basis where you decide what and when to invest in, and many have online trading platforms where you can trade from without even having to pick up the phone.

Some of these accounts will allow you to trade through a mobile platform too.
  • Can you provide me with tips how to invest with stock exchange individually?

I want to buy shares or invest with stock exchange, and I dont know where to start. Can you help?
First learn how to trade. There are a number of corps that have courses on how to trade the stock market. Before you do take the lessons, I'd recommend that you read a few books on the basics of trading, so that when you take the courses, it will all gel together and make sense to you.

After you learn, then you can paper trade for at least a month before you go on to live trading with real money. The papertrading will help you get a feel for the market without losing or using any real money.

  • How do I buy shares on the stock exchange?

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone knows how I can start buying and selling shares on the stock exchange? As in I would like to just go and buy 200 euro worth of shares right now if possible! can anyone help?
Also I'm living in Ireland so I need one that can deal with the Irish Stock exchange and only have an Irish bank account.
Investing with such a small sum through a traditional stock broker is a complete waste of time and money. Fees will likely eat up any profits that you make and you will need something like a 20% rise in a stocks share price just to break even on a trade.

The only way you could stand a chance of making any decent money with that start up fund is through spread trading where there are no brokers fees or taxes. It is possible to start off with very small trades and then raise stakes as your trading fund rises in value....

eg....you buy Ftse100 at 1Euro per point at 5900 and it rises to say, 6200 a week or two later where you close the trade....your profit is 300 points x 1Euro = 300Euros

    eg....Next you sell the Ftse100 at 6200 for 2Euro per point and it drops to 5800 a few weeks later...you close the trade.....your profit is 400 points x 2Euro = 800Euros

  • i want to know the value of my Stock Exchange commemorative 27th october 1986 plate?

I have a commemorative Royal Worcester plate which was given to me when i worked at the Stock Exchange in the 80's. All staff were given this plate so i know that it is a ltd edition. It is white with gold trim with the words "The Stock Exchange 27th October 1986" and the Stock Exchange crest - all in gold. It was made in 1987 by Royal Worcester and has Thomas Goode & Co Ltd London W1 on the back. I was just wondering if it is of any value today?
I think it would look real neat displayed next to a cheap cracked Corning ware plate with "The Stock Exchange 19th October 1987" written in a permanent felt marker.

I am an investor in the US, but I know the wind turbine maker, Clipper Windpower, trades on the London Alt Investment market. They have been doing some great work in the development of new turbine technology, and are working with BP to possibly create some wind farms. Worth a closer look.

I think the best way to start investing is to first see what the best traders are buying and selling. This is the idea behind the site http://www.top10traders.com - this is a free site that lets you create a portfolio of stocks with $100,000 in "play" money. Each day the site ranks the best performing portfolios, so you can see how your picks perform compared to other investors. You can also read posts on investing from the best traders, as well as share your own investing ideas.

Here are this month's best traders:

Just click on any trader's name to see what they have in their portfolio.

    Good luck.
