Cash Loans May Be Able To Help ?

I was reading a peace online about Cash Loans May Be Able TO Help with those bills that crop up when you don't need them such as the car breaks down and you don't have a credit card but just need a not to large amount until you get paid say at the end of the month.

It was saying that quite a few people are doing this now rather than getting a bank loan or credit card as it meant they could get some much needed lute to put things right without going totally mad on what they spend. I also understood it that this could easily be paid back in one payment or in two or three depending on how much is borrowed.

Some have called them pay-day-loans or something to that description. I personally thought it was a good idea as if you only loan a small amount for such as a car repair just to get you to work and back so as you can keep earning then depending on how you are fix you can get it paid off and be in the clear in no time at all.

I was just wondering if anyone had used these type of small loans instead of going to there bank for a loan or using a credit card if they have one.

I think I would be inclined to use one if it was not for a large amount say if my car needed some work like those silly bits that wear out and cost you an arm and a leg at the time then you can quickly pay it off and be in the clear.

Would love to here what others have to say on the topic.

I heard something to this affect on the tv recantly.

There was an advert for some company offering to lend money for a quick fix and get it in an hour and re-pay on your payday I think then they charge you so much interest. I think the apr was something like 2000 apr a really silly rate. I think if you loaned £80 to £100 region it was £10 interest I think ( could be wrong ) and that was if you paid it all straight back on your pay day.

I guess this sort of idea could be handy but hell you would not want to owe that company for long at those rates.

I can see them being handy at the time but I would be very cautious in not delaying payment back. Ok if it costs you say £20 in interest and it is a one off complete emergency then I guess you could live with that.

Smile I can see they having some use but I think you would be better to loan it off the family if you can or extremely close friend if it is that desperate or just try and hang on until you get paid.

You could always have an overdraft and just pay that off when you get paid then at least you know it is there just incase things in life do go wrong.

Tricky topic... cash loans can be quick and easy and help to keep your credit record clean, but if you mess things up and aren't able to pay it back in the short term, you could be signing yourself up for some pretty nasty consequences. Beware of loan sharks my friend. They're not out there to provide a friendly service. They're after blood...

  • Please help... in a real situation with Orange at the moment...?

    Hey,

So in November 2008 I took out a 14 day trial of Orange Mobile Broadband (the USB Dongle) through Phones 4 U. I found, over the first 7 days, that I wasnt getting a very good reception. I took it back and got a replacement. This one got low reception too. I cancelled the trial on the last day. End of story, right? Well it should have been.

However Orange apparently didnt receive the cancellation, and continued billing me. After the first bill I went into the Phones 4 U store and told them what had happened. They looked it up on their system - there it was, clear as day, cancellation date of 2nd December. I seem to remember they told Orange at this point, and said not to worry about it. So one reminder to pay this bill (threatening to disconnect and affect my credit rating) and one bill later (now owing > £38) I went back and complained again. Pretty much same thing happened. Eventually, one more reminder / threatening letter and bill later, I paid the bill and got paid back for it by Orange. End of story, or so I thought...

A week ago I tried to apply for a credit card. It was turned down due to my credit report. I looked up my credit report and guess what? Orange had affected my credit report despite it not being my fault. I complained to Orange by email straight away and got a reply yesterday. I was told to write a letter to Experian (with a £2.50 cheque - yes Orange are telling me to pay to correct THEIR mistake!! What an insult!!). I signed up to Experian and in the FAQs I noticed it said to ask the organisation involved to correct data if its wrong. I wrote a stroppy reply back to Orange saying that I had been advised completely the opposite of what I should have done and threatened to go to OfCom if this is not fixed immediately. I got a reply back within about 15 minutes saying to write to Orange Credit Referral Debt with a copy of the "file" (assuming they mean a printout of the credit report).

I really strongly feel that I should ask for compensation for the amount of stress they have caused over the past 22 months (thats right - a 14 day FREE trial is still affecting me 22 months on!!). My parents both feel different about it - they think I should just regard it as a lesson, get all the damage undone and move on.

What do other people think? Should I ask Orange for some kind of compensation (like 10 months free on my £10 per month phone contract that I still have with them, or £100 cash or something), take them to court for damages to my reputation or just leave it and move on? Are there any Orange employees on here that could tell me what they may be able to offer in compensation?

Please bear in mind that, if I hadnt tried to apply for a credit card, I couldve been refused for a mortgage, graduate overdraft, loan or any other finance I may need in the first few years of my working life. This could have affected me drastically, and still could if they dont pull themselves together and get something done about this...
This is serious. What Orange have done is libellous and you can prove it. In this months Which magazine, the Orange dongle was voted the worst. They are being very disingenuous by giving you the run around and passing you from department to department.

I would contact Which legal services. You may have to join but it is only £9 odd and ask their advice. A woman in America sued her phone company foe a very similar problem and got $40.000. But that is America. Still, Orange have slandered you. You must write to the credit reference agency and ask them to put a note on your file disputing this debt with Orange. You must also demand that the credit reference agency writes to any creditor who has searched your file within the past 3 months and give them the copy with your footnote on. This is your legal right.

Stop faffing about with idiots in call centres on the minimum wage, take your complaint to the top and threaten legal action for libel. Tell them that you have contacted Which legal services and Margaret Stone at the Daily Mail. She is a money expert and this is just the kind of case she likes to get her teeth into.

Send an email to this man stating what has happened and what you want him to do and how he will compensate you. He is the Chief Executive.

  • Member of jobcentre staff was really rude to me, can anyone help?

I have depression, but I still work and I study part time at college. I work as a supply nursing assistant for a psychiatric unit, the shifts are as and when needed. Thing is I havent had any since November. Being strong willed, I lived off my savings I had in my ISA and current account and didnt spend anything but the essentials such as travel to college. A girl who lives nearby me recommended a job as a waitress in the nearby restaurant where we live. I was very keen and went to meet the owner, who was looking for staff. She was very pleased to know I wanted a job there, but stressed that due to the recession just now, she MAY have to limit numbers of staff (I havent the faintest idea then why she is taking on two Czech girls), and also the job itself wouldnt start til April. She took my name and details and promised to ring me next month.

I have also applied for a post in palliative care, but didnt get the interview as the lady said that although I was well suited eg personality, I had insufficient experience in that area. So I am looking.

Today though I went to the jobcentre for a Jobseekers interview. Because my hours are currently at 0 for the job I am in (due to no shifts going), I was down as unemployed. I explained to the interviewer nicely that my situation wasnt ideal, and I wanted a bit of help financially to get me through this, but didnt exactly WANT to be on benefits. She was foul and said I would never get anywhere in life with my attitude. She interrogated me about how I was able to do shifts last year in my job and do 6 hours a week at college (am studying Higher Human Biology) and said I knew it all anyway so she didnt need to know. Despite the fact that I am at college Monday and Wednesday mornings and then in the afternoon do things for my Nan like get her prescription for her from the doctors (she cant walk far and has heart failure), she said that I could "do that another time", and "study in the evenings". I am not making excuses but I often fall asleep in the evenings due to being on medication, and like to put a couple of days aside to study in the daytime.

This lady reduced me to tears, so much so I even said to her that I have paid hundreds and hundreds before in tax and N.I which she turned her nose up at. It has made me not want to go back, and she frightened me so much I have even asked a friend for a loan of some cash, as I am scared to go on Jobseekers for the time being until my situation improves. What should I do?
Dont worry Taz c- I ignore silly people like him anyway!
@ Pinhead: No, no one said YA was an "ego stroking device" as you put it, but many people come on YA to get help, any for that matter. So I think your answer was insensitive and rude.
Yes, am in the UK. I dont normally let people like her get me down, but if you had seen her attitude then believe me, she was so nasty!
Hmm, this is why I end up having to block people like Pinhead...! Thanks to everyone else though, much appreciated.
    Garth...
Hello, I am so sorry to hear about your experience at the Job Centre but you are not alone as there are a lot of these people who work there think they can talk to people anyway they like! They have a Charter whereby it states that they will treat their 'customers' with courtesy etc etc so obviously they have broken this charter (no surprise there eh?)

You need to act fairly quickly here as you do not want to lose your impetus. Firstly calm down and think about the interview again. Write down as precisely as you can what was said by both parties and how you felt afterwards - tell them it reduced you to tears. Next, phone the Job CENTRE manager/ess and go over the pertinent points and tell them how you feel - keep calm and try not to get upset or angry. If they become aggressive or rude, or indeed both, ask them if that is their final word on the matter. Then tell him that you are not happy with him/her or how he handled the situation and tell him you intend to take the matter the whole way. Write down everything he/she said to you and how they said it.

Next step is to write to the manager and say it is regarding your phone call and complaint and inform him that you are now going to take this up with your MP.

Write to your MP or if you can get along to their local surgery all the better and tell what is going on. Tell him/her you just went there for advice and not to be abused and you want something done about it.

Don't just sit back and accept this treatment for that is what is wrong here in the UK, too many people take crap from officials who should know better and do nothing about it. If we all stood up for ourselves then things would change.

The secret to getting something done is to remain calm and collected when talking to these people and secondly, write down everything they say to you .. don't embellish anything, just stick to the facts.

Kind regards and the very best of luck.
