Buy to Let a caravan hey. Urm may not be as daft as some would think.

Well you see these caravan holiday parks and people who have horses sometimes have a groom living in one of them ( thank god I am not one of those ).

I guess if it is in tip top condition and you make sure the gas and electrics are checked out properly an I think you would have to delcare any rent also may be check with the council.

In fact I would enquire at the local council but you could just ask them how you would go about it and they should be able to give you some good advice. It would be interesting to see if anyone on here has throught of the same or thinking about it and what information they can share with the rest of us.

Not sure exactly where you would start.

May be you could try a main dealer who sells static caravans see if they know.

I know you can buy one and have it put on a holiday site say some where nice in Wales but you are sort of stuck to that location plus I think you pay so much for it being there, use it when you want and I think you can let it to other holiday makers.

You could always try a holiday that has these static carvans and ask them what the proceedure is. In fact if you were to do a search for holiday homes on this site I am sure you will find something that is of use then you can contact them direct. Smile

I dont know if you could buy a caravan such as a static one to let it out on your land or not but I know you can buy them at such as these big holiday parks where you can go as and when you want.

I do know you can let them yourself for holiday use, that is for your own use or if you was going to start a holiday place up that dose such as that.

I thinkj if you wanted to let one out I think you might have to contact your local housing section of the council and get advice from them and see what they say.

As far as I know you can live in one yourself if you are doing some work on your house and it is only temporary or something but I think overall your posting is a bit of a tricky one to answer straight away.

Letting a caravan out ?.

I have not heard of that before. I know some equestrian establishments use them for a student / staff sometimes but I have heard they are not that nice to live in. I dare say that you can get some nice ones but I understand they can be costly to buy.

I know you can buy a static caravan and have it on an official site like a holdiay home site and that your static caravan can be let out to other holiday makes like you can if you buy a property abroad.
I think you pay so much to keep it there and so much for someone to go in and clean after guests have gone etc. What the exact fees are I have no idea. You would have to look in to these holiday homes more closely.

It may be worth having one then when you want a short break in the middle of no where you have some where to go unless it has been let out or that you just keep it for yourself.

I personally suggest before you even attempt to let a caravan of anykind out that you should go and talk to your local council and see what advice they can give you as you do not want to get on the wrong side of the law, do it all correctly then at least you get it right. Big smile

Have you tried asking a caravan dealer to see if they would have any idea on that apart from what others have suggested.

many people buy caravan homes for the sole purpose of letting them. I have heard of people buying old caravan homes and refurbishing them; apparently you can make a killing that way. These types of homes are becoming more an more popular so why not cash in on it (I would if I had the money).

I have never heard of letting a caravan out before. Interesting idea though. I guess you could let it out on a official site but not sure about buying to just let out and amake a few quid.

Good luck all the same.
